1. Windows 8 and 10 do not have .NET Framework 2 installed by default. This is a required prerequisite for older versions of EstimatorXpress (all versions prior to 9.03) if you are using Excel 2007 or later. If you have EstimatorXpress 9.03 or later it no longer requires .net2 so you do not need to follow this part any further and go to step 2 below.
This quick video shows you how to install .NET Framework 3.5 onto your Windows 10 computer. You will need an internet connection, and the process typically takes around 5 to 10 minutes depending on the speed of your internet and your computer.
2. The second reason for not being able to load the ribbon is that the EstimatorXpress add-in has been disabled in Excel.
To resolve this, run Excel and open a black spreadsheet, click on File and then Options. In the Excel Options screen click on Add-ins.
Look for the Manage: drop down menu at the bottom of the screen. From the drop down menu select Disabled Items and then click on the Go button.
If you see EstimatorXpress in the list of disabled items, select it, and then click Enable.
Close Excel down and now run EstimatorXpress again.
